Our Ministries

The ministries of MULC are carried out by the following committees.  

Christian Outreach
  • Joy Comes in the Morning - grief support ministry

  • ABCs of Hunger

  • Lutheran World Relief Projects

  • Tapiola 4th of July Parade

  • Tapiola Tree Lighting

  • Chili Soup Suppers

Christian Education
  • Confirmation - those seeking to affirm their baptismal promises may speak with the pastor to schedule instruction.  

  • First Communion - individual families may discern when they would like children to receive the sacrament and may make arrangements with the pastor for instruction. 

  • Adult Bible Study - meets Thursdays at 12:30pm.  Everyone welcome. 

    • We are currently reading and discussing "I Can Do No Other: The Church's New Here I Stand Moment: by Anna Madsen.  You can read more about this book by clicking here. Pastor Kelly has copies of the book available.

Harvest & Holly Bazaar

annual fundraiser for church and community-based projects/organizations.

  • We offer quality rummage for sale, breakfast and lunch, baked goods, silent auction, and raffle.

  • This year's Bazaar will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

Endowment

oversees monies gifted to the congregation for the future of its ministry. 

Finance and Stewardship
works with the Financial Manager and Financial Secretary to oversee the general income and expenses of the congregation.

Memorial

oversees monies received in honor of deceased loved ones for the benefit of the congregation's ministry.

Memorial Garden

oversees the landscaping of church grounds.

Property

oversees the care and maintenance of our church buildings and property.  

  • Lawn Mowing

  • Painting

  • General Repairs

  • Works with Custodian to coordinate cleaning and setup of church facilities

Worship and Music

works with the pastor to plan: 

  • Liturgical Settings

  • Hymn Selection

  • Seasonal Decorating

  • Joint worship with neighboring ELCA congregations
